That is annoying and I can't see the logic behind HPs insistence of having an on-line account to scan documents. It reminds me of one of the reasons I switched away from using MFP ink jet printers (HP I think) when I found I could not scan a document because the printer had decided that one of the ink jets needed changing.HP Smart requires HP printer users to set up an HP account in order to scan documents.
