Honestly, I was quite please with how manageble the recoil was. But my example may not be the best because mine weighs 31oz vs the other 24-26oz Kimbers.Here's one I can speak from experience on. I own both. The Ultra Carry is a stainless model with alloy frame and of course the Glock I reference is the 36. Kimber weighs 25.0 oz. and 8 rounds capacity. I owned an Ultra CDP and it was a great gun. I just bought an Ultra Carry in 9mm and am "tuning it up". It too is a great little pistol. For the money in a carry gun, the CDP is the better buy, unless you can find an Ultra TLE II. Checkering and night sights for under $1k.
