"non-corruptible" blocks as the tunnel lining arnt needed as long as the tunnel is 3 block wide. non-corruptible lining is only a requirement for 2 block wide holes. tunnel lining can be any block other then dirt or mud (i use raw stone and platforms). lining should extend 6block past the surface because thorns could grow up > over the entrance.
