We did two museums and lunch there on KU Campus. Recommend parking at KU Union. Spencer is just down the hill from KU Union. This was our afternoon trip (after lunch)..

Spencer Museum of Art at University of Kansas. September 4 – December 13, 2020. The term “Silk Road,” which may conjure up an image of camels plodding across the desert on one contiguous road, was invented in the 19th century to describe the many different trade routes that flourished between Europe and Asia from the 2nd century BCE to the mid-15th century.K-12. An appreciation and understanding of art begins early, and children of all ages can enjoy and benefit from the Museum’s exhibitions and programs. Spencer educators and docents enthusiastically work with K–12 teachers to deliver fun and informative arts activities for their students at the Museum and in local classrooms.This project is part of the ‘Integrated Arts Research Initiative’ (IARI), which aims to stimulate transdisciplinary research between science and the Spencer Museum of Art. The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has funded it from 2016 to 2019 (Integrated Arts Research Initiative, Spencer Museum of Art, n.d.).
