Hello, I know this is a bit unorthodox, but, im a vlad main who struggles to fight Malz in ranked games. Early game I seem to do fine but never well enough to secure a kill and as soon as level 6 hits, well you all know how good your ult is. Needless to say every time im playing vlad against a malz I die under tower at lvl 6.Also that from "statistics", one of the more recent EUW masters level vlad also spams the same build, but sometimes goes PR instead of electro. I would reccomend for anyone reading this to make their own type of review of all of their builds, items, etc. it can be a big thing to actually understand and compare weaknesses and strengths of items ...To be good top Vlad u need to be good at these 3 things. 1- wave management. 2- matchups knowledge. 3- know how to space. The 3 main runes of top Vlad are phase rush, aery, first strike and conq. Phase rush when the u need to kite and do short trade (trynda/ nasus/ darius/riven) Aery for the extra poke and snowbally matchup (aatrox/yone/yasuo)

But that early kill is dangerous, and if you loose, you will need even more time to get strong. So imo its better to play safe bc you outscale most enemies.How it feels to lane against ryze. Vlad is one of the best late game champs, but so are kassadin and yi so probably them. Out scale depends on context such as whether it’s a 1v1 duel or 5v5 team fight. For example Vlad is great team fighter but a duelist like Fiora is not. Vlad “outscales” in a 5v5 context but Fiora will shit on Vlad 1v1 ...The gold standard first items on vlad are kindlegem and codex early, just get an armguard in between those and if its really rough u can simply go for zhonyas very early, since codex+armguard both builds into it. taking armor runes over hp ones is also very helpful, since it kinda negates the early lethality he will get.There are alot of tools for early game comps to win with. A team built purely around the early game could have gotten both heralds and 2 dragons by the 20 min mark, which puts you at a severe disadvantage in mid-game. If you can make late game, Vlad is 1v9. But that is harder to do now compared to season 9. 1.
